The Inner Palace Tale of a Villainess Noble Girl - Chapter 4
There was no way she could sleep in the bed where the king was sleeping, drinking.
After staying up all night writing and knitting under a few lights, Diana changed from her nightgown to her normal dress at dawn alone and waited for the king to wake up.
…Of course, when King Juke woke up in the morning, he showed a shocked expression.
“…What does this mean?”
“Good morning, Your Majesty.”
“What do you mean? What have you done to me!”
The way he calls me has been downgraded from ‘Lady’ to ‘you’. It was done out of kindness, but for some reason, it seems to have helped him to be hated. It’s all right.
“Don’t worry, I haven’t done anything to you. His Majesty has rested on his own. A good night’s sleep would have taken away any fatigue you may have felt.”
“You think this is the way to repay me. I told you, no matter what you did, I would never love you!”
“I, too, said it would be at your pleasure, Your Majesty. In the first place, it may be bluntly stated that I, for all intents and purposes, do not wish to curry favor with you.”
“…you hope to be an heir apparent.”
It’s twisted and interpreted in every way. If it was a normal person, it would be easy to brush it off, but in any case, it was an all-nighter. You can’t blame them for being so annoyed.
“It’s a good thing that you’re well rested. I’m glad to hear that you’ve had a good rest.”
“I asked you to leave. –I am tired. I can’t waste any more energy.”
She took a glance at the king with the feeling that she’d had enough. It’s not an attitude towards the king of a country by mistake, but Diana was tired of it too. You can’t have the affection you sprinkle on someone who won’t even take your words seriously in this situation. Not even a bit.
“…of course! I don’t want to see your face anymore without being told!”
With an angry shout of cursing, the king leaves the room. In their place, Rita and the palace maidservants entered. Leaving the somewhat reserved maidservants behind, Rita was the first to run up to them.
“What can I do for you, Lady Diana?”
“Rita, I want you to change the sheets on my bed.”
“Lady Diana, you can’t be serious!”
“Don’t worry. I’ll talk to you later.”
The maidservants finally take action at their master’s command. As expected of the royal maidservants, they move quickly and efficiently, and in the blink of an eye, their beds are restored to their original beauty. I took it back. While the bunk was being arranged, Diana changed into her nightgown again. As Rita helped her apologetically, she asked in a whisper, “Are you not asleep, Lady Diana?”
“Lady Diana, are you sleeping?”
“I haven’t slept a wink. I have given my bunk to His Majesty, and in case His Majesty is absent, I will be able to move quickly on the sofa, in case he is absent. I’ve been waiting around.”
“Well it was hard to believe that you were that concerned, but your relationship with His Majesty just now seemed to be acrimonious.”
“He hates me because of his own accord. I got a little angry at him, so I hit him back.”
But I don’t regret it. It’s hard to keep your emotions in check afterwards if you’re bad at it, so if you’re frustrated, you can get rid of it when you do. It’s the Crester way. I’m used to being disliked, and I’m used to being obsessed with relationships that are destroyed to that degree in the first place. You can’t deal with a ‘villainous face’ with a feminine thought process.
Rita sighed deeply.
“By the looks of it, I’m afraid breakfast won’t be possible.”
“I’d rather go to bed now anyway. Get me a snack for lunch-cum-lunch before noon.”
“Very funny. …Oh, by the way.”
The good maidservant did not miss the slightest opportunity to announce the message.
“This afternoon, there will be a tea party for those who have been given the Named Room.”
“Well you’ve arrived early. Okay, I’ll leave the dress to you, just be prepared.”
“Yes, I’ll take care of the tea party. Lady Diana has to be rested for now.”
“Yeah, I’ll do it.”
The maidservants peeked out. Seeing that her bunk was ready, she stepped into her bedroom.
“I will rest for a while. We’ll eat before noon, a quick snack would be appreciated.”
“Ha … yes.”
“Rita told me about the tea party. Please take Rita and be ready for it.”
The replies of the maidservants were unusually sharp. I guess they’re still frightened here, too, Diana said, half-heartedly, as she entered the rear palace and for the first time, I crawled into my bunk.
–I’m already well aware that my appearance is an unintentional source of alarm.
But. I wish.
I want to meet someone who could see Diana for herself and not just her appearance.
…Is it really, so strange to think that way?

In the King’s Inner Palace of the Kingdom of El Grand, there are five ‘rooms’ named after flowers.
[TLNote: Change the rear palace to Inner Palace.]
Needless to say, one of them is the Red Rose Chamber, which is currently reserved for Diana. It is also known as the Queen’s Chamber, and at a time when the palace was not functioning, the Red Rose Chamber was the Queen’s chamber of honor. It is a living space.
The Red Rose Room is followed by the Peony Room, the Water Lily Room, the Bellflower Room, and the Violet Room, in that order. In many periods when the queen was not chosen, the princesses of distinguished family backgrounds were gathered in this Hall of Names, and the queen was elected as the queen. They fought a dark struggle to get there.
However, the present-day Named Chamber in the Imperial Palace has a slightly different meaning than in the past. After all, the number of people gathered is the number of people. There was no way that the number of rooms could be satisfied in five.
In the present-day palace of the king, the named chamber is equivalent to “a princess of the highest level of cultivation in her family”. It’s a good thing. In fact, the princesses who had been given the Named Chamber were just like any other.
“Welcome to the Hall of Name, Lady Diana. We’ve been expecting you.”
“This way, please.”
“Well, thank you.”
In the tea party room where she arrived with Rita and Yuri, the first people who approached Diana were two marquise daughters who knew each other.
Daughter of a Marquis, Rhea Strescia and Daughter of a Marquis, Yolanda Eustor. Along with Diana in social circles, she has a prominent beauty that is chanted as ‘flower’. Their families are of the same rank and age, and they have always been good friends. They’ve been kind to Diana, and they’re just acquainted with each other.
“Would you like some tea? There’s a rare one from Lady Leticia’s place.”
“Yes, of course I will be grateful.”
“Well yes. It’s nice to meet you, Lady Diana. My name is Leticia Kiel.”
Diana quickly flipped through the ‘Aristocracy Book’ in her head and opened the entry for the ‘Kiel family’. It’s an earl family with a fiefdom in the temperate south. I see, the climate would be suitable for tea cultivation.
“I’m ashamed to say that I’m not aware of the fact that Count Keel grows tea on his estate. Are you running it as a business?”
“Yes, that’s right. This tea seems to grow better in warmer climates. I’ve been cultivating it since my father’s generation in the hope that it will be unique to our land.”
“It’s a wonderful thing, isn’t it? Each area should have its own unique agricultural products. Since we have a large territory, it is important for the lords of the land to have their own unique products that are suited to their own land. I’m sure you’ll be able to research your own crops.”
“My goodness. You just arrived at the palace yesterday, and now you’re pretending to be the queen?”
Just as the teacup was placed in front of Diana, an ear-piercing voice flew in from right beside her. Leticia in front of her froze, Rhea and Yolanda, who had taken their seats, ducked their eyebrows lightly. Diana switched the subject of the conversation to the strange young lady right beside her.
“I only said what I thought. Why would there be ‘pretending to be the rightful Queen’ with your current story?”
“Managing the estate is a part of governmental duties. Only a queen could interfere wisely with a woman’s affairs.”
“You sound quite old-fashioned, don’t you? Let’s see…”
“My name is Liliane Landrose.”
“Very polite. My name is Diana Crester. And I hope you’ll be familiar with me from now on.”
While returning the greeting, I flipped through the ‘Aristocracy Book’ in my brain again. The name “Landrose” was found in a fairly high-ranking marquis family. It’s the most prestigious family in the Kingdom of El Grand, which has produced several prime ministers in successive generations.
…I see, that would explain the enmity emanating from her entire body in spite of their first meeting. To a countess, albeit of exceptionally high family rank than Liliane, who should be the daughter of a prestigious marquis family Diana, who is not too much, is higher in the pecking order in the rear court.
The tea party table is rectangular, and clockwise, the Red Rose Room, the Peony Room, the Water Lily Room, and the Bellflower Room. It is the tradition for the side rooms of the Violet Room to be seated. They are sitting right next to Diana, followed by Lillian, Rhea, Yolanda and Leticia on the other side. So that means.
Lillian is the Peony Room, Rhea is the Water Lily Room, Yolanda is the Bellflower Room, and Leticia is the side room that was given the Violet Room.
With the exception of Diana, they are generally given rooms that are appropriate for their family size. The addition of Letitia to the ‘named’ list is not substandard, but I’ve discovered a new specialty. She is the daughter of an accomplished earl who has developed his business successfully. It’s a good thing that you’re able to get a good idea of what you’re looking for.
“By the way, Lady Diana, people are already talking about it, right?”
Perhaps deciding that the conversation was settled, Rhea turned her amused eyes to Diana. When she returned with a light tilt of her head, Yolanda continued to follow.
“I heard that you entered the Inner palace just yesterday and you’ve already spent the night with His Majesty. There is a great deal of commotion in the back palace, as they wonder if His Majesty has finally met the “ideal partner”!”
“So………is that right?”
Diana returned a light chuckle. ”The part about ‘spending the night with His Majesty’ was the only part that was true, but it wasn’t anything colorful, in fact. is just one night of recognizing that he’s not just ‘the one’, he’s disliked a lot. Originally, the person called Juke was not Diana’s favorite, and she didn’t want to force herself to be liked by someone who hated her. Diana, who has no desire to be neither desired nor liked, is “King Juke” equals “King Juke” equals “I should hope for favor”. The formula of ‘opponent’ had been cleanly erased.
Therefore. It doesn’t matter what kind of rumors are started about his relationship with the king, frankly, it doesn’t matter. The rumors are wrong and should be denied, but it’s a shame to even spend the effort to deny them. If it’s a rumor that’s going to be a mental burden, it’s still a rumor that you can get away with on the level of a pebble dropped on the side of the road, but it’s not worth the effort to deny it. It would be an appalling waste of time.
“His Majesty must have been concerned about my father. And even if he did give the Red Rose to someone else, disrespecting him would be detrimental to the reputation of His Majesty.”
“Is that right?”
“I don’t know if His Majesty would care about that…”
“Even if you did, there’s no reason for him to stay in your room all night, is there?”
“That’s because Your Majesty is very tired.”
“Well! Surely you would feel more at home by Lady Diana’s side?”
…I’m too lazy to deny it, so I’ve stated the view and the truth as it is. That seemed to have further deepened the credibility of the rumors, but it was useless to care about unimportant rumors.
Rhea and Yolanda seemed to be enjoying themselves, and Leticia joined the conversation, albeit modestly, between the four of them. The air was a bit more harmonious there. While continuing the conversation in an appropriate manner, Diana was concerned about right beside her. The expression is appropriate.
I’m just living life as it is, but after all, the Crester family will still have a grudge against someone somewhere.
Diana sighed inwardly as it was going to be complicated.
