The Inner Palace Tale of a Villainess Noble Girl - Chapter 1
“What are you doing, you f*cking idiot?”
In the Earl of Crester’s mansion, a super dreadful cursing resounded–.
In the Kingdom of El Grand, there’s no one who didn’t know of the Earl of Crester.
‘The king of the underworld who rules over the evil of the kingdom’—that was the name given to them.
The title has been given to the Crester family for a good three hundred years. It’s a very good idea to have a good idea of what you’re looking for here. Their connections and tactics have been passed down from generation to generation, and now their roots have spread throughout the kingdom. They are everywhere.
Even if you were lucky enough to grab their tail on rare occasions, it’s only a ‘tail’ to them. If you cut it off, they will cut it off as if it didn’t matter, and the darkness of the rest of the body will never come to light.
If you do not do anything right, you will be in danger, and those committed to justice could only hold on to their anger in face of this.
That is the Earl of Crester–
Though, those were just ‘rumors’.
“In the first place! This didn’t happen because you’re not strong enough! At the palace, in this time of year, of all times! That’s when you can use that useless intimidation!”
“I’m sorry, Ellie. I’ll explain! Put that vase down, please…!”
“Mother, please calm down!”
Two mature men and women were acting out a scene of uncharacteristic violence. The scene was just what you would call a domestic dispute.
The costumes of the three actors were of high quality, their manners elegant (without mentioning what they were doing). At first glance, you could already tell they were of the upper class. In fact, they were nobles.
The present Earl of Crester, Duaris Crester, his wife, Elizabeth Crester, and his eldest son, Edward Crester.
They were the infamous “Earl of Crester” family.
“Let go of me, Edward! This time, I can’t allow it! If it were anything else, of all things, our girl, of all things!”
“I understand your anger, but if you hit him with that sort of thing, father–!”
“No problem! He looks like he won’t die anyways!”
“Just because my face is like that doesn’t guarantee that I won’t die…”
While saying that, Edward muttered inwardly (well, he’s not actually going to die…). Sensitive to his thoughts, Duaris said, “Ed, you traitor~! He hid under the desk and shouted pathetically. No matter how patronizingly you look at it , that figure didn’t look like an ‘evil emperor’.
That’s right, such things as the Earl of Crester ‘controlling the evil in the kingdom’ were just rumors. In reality, he is a loving husband and a good father who dotes on his children, and a wonderful lord who is adored by the people of his domain. There aren’t many people who can look at his true nature and associate the word ‘evil’ with it.
But sadly, the rumors whispered about him had their own basis. It’s–.
“You know your face! Who will say, “I was accidentally attacked!” With that diabolical, cold-blooded human face!”
…That was it.
It could only be explained as a genetic wonder, but the Earl of Crester’s family, for generations, has only been described as having a ‘bad guy face’. Many people were born with helpless, evil-looking faces. Or rather, many of them were born with such faces. It didn’t matter how many good-looking wives you had, the blood of the Crester family seemed to win out, and you will always have a bad face.
This generation was an especially good example of this. Her husband, Duaris, was one of the rare occasions in the history of the Crester family where he has a cold-blooded, diabolical, human face. He is not stern, but rather beautiful, but his appearance was associated with the word “icy”. Only ‘nah’ or ‘no blood, no tears’ or ‘brutality that doesn’t move a single eyebrow’ or something of that sort. She can’t find it. Expressionlessness was his default state, and if he smiled occasionally, that smile was famously known as the devil’s smile, and well, if you put these together, it’s called ‘ He was the kind of person who made you think, “Oh, my God, I’m not a commoner with that face!”’.
At the end of all the fuss, he married her (this is important), who at the time was the daughter of Viscount Learer. The mother, Elizabeth. She was a beautiful princess with blonde hair that shone like the sun, eyes as blue as the sea, a lilting smile and a kind face. There it is. Not just the face of a good man, but if you put him alongside Duaris, Elizabeth looked like a princess sacrificed to a demon king. In fact, their wedding was filled with that kind of reputation.
The worries of those around them as to whether Princess Ellie was safe or whether the Demon King has done something terrible to her were nothing to worry about. Originally married after falling in love, they couldn’t possibly be on bad terms, and a year later, Elizabeth had her first son, She gave birth to Edward. The moment he was born, Elizabeth knew her genes were defeated.
“Mother, let’s just calm down for now. We can’t talk about what we can do until we sit down in a chair.”
Treating his mother with a level of caution that calms the rampaging horse with as little irritation as possible. He was Edward, the eldest son, who has grown to 22 years of age. He has shiny chestnut hair, jade eyes, the pigmentation of his father, and a gentle face with slightly lowered eyes, taking a lot after his mother. So far, there was no need for Elizabeth to feel defeated anywhere.
The question was.
“Brother. Even if you say it with your face, it sounds like you’re being tricked and rounded up.”
“Don’t tell me you know the obvious now! My face, I’m desperate too!”
At his sister’s calm tweak, his brother let out a sorrowful cry.
Yes, the Crester family’s genes, even Elizabeth’s genes, which were praised as angels, were ‘bad-faced’. She had to remake her. If you only look at each part of his face, Edward looked exactly like Elizabeth, but if you look at it as a whole, you’ll see that he was as if ‘a beautiful woman with a kind smile, dangling the women, using and playing with them too much, and then easily discarding them. She can only see it. Edward looked like that from the moment he was born, so Elizabeth’s sense of defeat was very appropriate indeed.
As for Elizabeth, whose vase was finally approaching thirty centimeters above Duaris’ head by the other, upon realizing that her daughter had entered the room, stopped moving quickly and looked up towards the direction of the voice. She smiled at her parents, who seemed to have finally recognized her.
“Father and mother. Tea is ready. Would you like to have some tea after you’ve broken father’s head with a vase?”
“You can put off cracking your head for good!”
After being told something scary, Duaris sat down on the couch furtively. Elizabeth also put the vase back in place and sat down next to Duaris. Edward tilted his head as he sat down in front of her as well.
“You’re going to pour it for us? What happened to Rita?”
“You want them to serve you in the middle of all this mess? All the servants in the house were terrified.”
“I love making tea. That’s why I’ve offered to bring it to you while you all were at it.”
“Very well. Well thank you, Diana.”
It was the sister Edward was staring at with his gentle eyes that caused Elizabeth to be furious from earlier. A girl. She is the eldest daughter of the Crester family, the Earl of Diana Crester, who turns 17 this year. She is Edward’s only sister, and the only daughter of Duaris and Elizabeth. It would be a lie if they weren’t spoiled in this situation, but the genes that ran in the Crester family were such a raw deal. She didn’t forgive him.
“Yes, here you go. I’ve blended in a little lavender to help you feel better.”
Suddenly Elizabeth began to whimper and cry.
“You have grown up to be such a kind, heartfelt, beautiful daughter. –Please forgive mother for letting the Crester’s blood get the better of me!”
“Please calm down, Mother. It’s not that I’m not satisfied with my face. Thank you for giving me a beautiful face.”
Diana exchanged glances with her brother and gave up trying to calm her mother down quickly. Not that she was seriously distraught in any way, but when it came to the matter of Diana’s face, the resemblance to Elizabeth’s face didn’t surface right away. If left alone, she would return to normal on her own, so Diana decided to quickly get down to business.
“So, why is mother so angry?”
“No, that’s the thing, Diana, I need you to calm down and listen to me…”
The next line from her father made Diana look at the cool slit to the limit.
“I’ve been sent word that you are to be in His Majesty Juke’s inner palace…”
–The season is spring.
It was a very mid-afternoon event–
