All The Male Leads Have Blackened - Chapter 20
The smell of the cigarettes combined with the scent of the perfume both mixed together then inhaled, filling the nasal cavity. An Zeru was stunned for a moment with the cigarette still in his mouth, not knowing how to react.
Suddenly, the ash from the cigarette fell onto the back of his hand.
He finally regained his sense. Immediately frowning, he roughly pulled out the cigarette from his mouth as the back of his hand already turned red and blew it a few times. He retreated backward with quite the expression of disgust.
With a sneer, “Who the hell would want to be involved with you.”
Finished speaking, he turned his head to the side, snuffed out the cigarette in his hand, and pretended to start the motorcycle. Cen Simiao narrowed her eyes and called out to him, “Hey.”
An Zeru didn’t pay attention to her at all, and his hands didn’t stop. When he turned the key, the crisp sound of her heels rang out again and he felt a warmth next to his ear.
His body subconsciously shifted.
Cen Simiao was as if she was coaxing a child, “Isn’t your temper a bit too much? Don’t be angry…”
An Zeru felt that he was becoming angrier from this treatment. It was still okay if she hadn’t said anything, but once she opened her mouth, he felt annoyed. He tightened his jaw and endured it.
Finally, still unable to hold it back, with a turn of his head, he met her gaze.
Cen Simiao raised her eyebrows, then lowered her eyelashes and did not continue to stare at him but, instead, took a casual sip of her cigarette. His cold tone sounded, “Regardless of how I am, it’s not yours to judge.”
“Best to save your worries and put on a few more face masks, jie-jie.”
[T/N: jie-jie means older sister, in this case, it’s for the sarcasm tone.]
Cen Simiao held the cigarette between her fingers. Tilting her head, she blew out a smoke ring. When she turned back to look at him, she saw his face full of mockery, an appearance that seemed like he didn’t want to pay attention to her at all.
She chuckled, lowered her eyes, and pulled his hand. Before An Zeru was even able to react, he was caught, and the lit cigarette was placed in his hand.
Cen Simiao’s tone was slow and casual, “To actually be so angry… Then you don’t have to return it. Here, keep it well.”
Then she immediately turned and walked back towards the hall.
With her soft waist and slender legs, her gait was very charming.
An Zeru’s face was very ugly when he lowered his eyes to snuff out the cigarette, and he gnashed his teeth after seeing the lipstick mark left on the cigarette.
It was different from the bright red on his Adam’s apple that other day.
He was stupefied for a moment before he regained his mind again, but by that time, the figure in front of him was already some distance away. Then he suddenly remembered why Cen Simiao would be here and pursed his lips. He didn’t expect she really was somehow related to the An family.
What exactly was she planning?
An Zeru didn’t go back to his room to change his clothes. Instead, he directly went into the hall dressed in casual clothes and became particularly conspicuous among the group of people who were wearing suits and leather shoes.
No matter how unwilling he was, he could weigh the situation out clearly. When he saw someone smiling towards him, he would exchange a few words, all while he seamlessly glanced over the crowd several times.
The young girl that was standing next to him was particularly attentive and had noticed his actions. Dragging him to a side, she whispered, “Who are you looking for? Your buddies have the same character as you. If they could get out of coming, they wouldn’t be here. It’s only Uncle An that’s particularly impressive, even able to call you back.”
An Zeru absentmindedly agreed.
After a pause, he suddenly asked Xiao Suhan, “Have you seen a woman in a black dress?”
Xiao Suhan had yet to understand the question before he further added, “One who looked especially proud and arrogant.”
Xiao Suhan lowered her eyelashes and curved the corner of her lips into a smile, then jokingly asked, “When have you ever taken such an initiative to find some little sister?”
He scoffed, and his just smoothened brows furrowed again in displeasure, “Little sister? More like a big sis.”
Xiao Suhan frowned and was about to continue asking when she saw An Zeru shift his gaze to the side, seeming as if he didn’t want to continue talking about it.
She didn’t bother to be nosy anymore.
The banquet was at the height of its liveliness, currently on the third song as people danced in pairs. Xiao Suhan drank a sip of the red wine, feeling bored, and coquettishly said, “Let’s also go dance. It’s boring to stay here like this.”
An Zeru couldn’t work up any interest and told her to find someone else to dance with first.
Xiao Suhan suddenly paused and blankly stared towards the side of the hall’s entrance. A fair body wrapped in a long black dress with a slender neck and her back straight.
There was a smile on her lips right now, but her whole aura made it seem as if she was difficult to approach.
She subconsciously took a glance at An Zeru. He was looking down at the red wine in his glass and hadn’t noticed yet. Suddenly, he turned his head and saw Xiao Suhan’s expression. He frowned.
Xiao Suhan raised her eyebrows, “What? I can’t look at you?”
He chuckled, shook his head, and didn’t continue to say anything. Finished with his first glass of wine and right as he was getting a second glass, he looked up and the corner of his eye twitched, a long black dress reflected in his eyes.
He swallowed, then took a big sip from the new glass.
[T/N: that’s right! It was a dry swallow! The order is fine. XD]
Cen Simiao was talking to someone and chatting about some business affairs. She had little experience in this field but was quite curious to learn more. The other side spoke with fervor and assurance, so she nodded and made sure to keep the information in mind.
Right as the other party was at the height of their enthusiasm in explaining something, Cen Simiao quietly looked over to where An Zeru was sitting from the corner of her eye.
Immediately, the corner of her lips curved, and she smiled gently as if she wasn’t the same person who was by the fountain earlier. All of a sudden, the other party stopped talking and looked towards the center of the hall, then asked in a light voice, “Let’s also go dance for a round, what do you think?”
Cen Simiao lowered her eyelashes.
She danced exceptionally well, every one of her steps was in rhythm with the music. As her skirt was swayed, her dancing posture was the most outstanding among the group. In contrast, her partner was a little inferior.
But the other side was obviously quite content and happy about this opportunity.
An Zeru tilted his head, his eyes continued to follow her. Swirling the glass in his hand, he saw the smile in Cen Simiao’s eyes, appearing very gentle and refined.
With a snort, “Sham.”
As if to cooperate with him, Cen Simiao smiled even more gently.
An Zeru sullenly downed another glass of wine.
A moment later, the music abruptly stopped.
Those who were dancing stopped and confusedly looked around. The person in charge of the equipment hurriedly went over to check. Several wires were cut. It would take some time to get them connected again.
By that time, the atmosphere would have long turned cold.
Suddenly, ear-breaking music sounded through the hall, which was particularly noisy. Following the sound over, An Zeru was holding a mobile phone with the volume turned up to the maximum.
Seeing that people were looking at him, he raised his eyebrows and leisurely said, “Come, I’ll present everyone a dance. No need for the fun to be spoiled. Let them rush to repair it, we can keep playing.”
There was a sense of unruliness on An Zeru’s brows, and as soon as his words fell, he walked to the center with a smile on his lips. His movements were very explosive. His outerwear had long been taken off, leaving him wearing only a sleeveless shirt that exposes his arms and shoulders. The lines of the muscles on his arms looked particularly strong.
The person in charge of the party also understood his signals and turned off the chandeliers, changing them to flickering spotlights. This caused the atmosphere to be even more infectious and all of a sudden, it became lively again.
Towards the end of his last movement, he raised his chin slightly with exceptionally arrogant and untamed eyes, fully exuding rebelliousness and extravagance.
Cen Simiao’s gaze fell on his waist that was wrapped in clothes.
Finished with the dance, An Zeru’s forehead was covered with a layer of sweat, and he lightly panted as he walked back. As he walked past Cen Simiao, he didn’t look at her at all, and just treated it as if she didn’t exist.
Cen Simiao narrowed her eyes.
It was already very late by the time the banquet ended. Gu Yu had wanted for a while to find a chance to coax Cen Simiao during the banquet. When he didn’t see her in the hall earlier, he had gone out to look for her once but didn’t manage to run into her.
Afterward, he also didn’t have a chance to speak with her.
He was prepared to pull Cen Simiao to go home together, but in a moment of inattentiveness, he lost track of her again.
At a corner outside of the hall.
It was a particularly oppressive night that even the lights at the entrance of the hall felt useless. An Zeru looked down at his motorcycle, ready to push it to the garage when suddenly, he heard the sound of heels stepping across the floor.
He frowned on conditional reflex.
Without looking up, he heard: “Are you free?”
Sure enough, a voice that he was exceptionally familiar with. He placed the tip of his tongue against his teeth and focused his gaze on the handlebar of the motorcycle, “No.”
Cen Simiao’s tone was gentle, it was the first time she used such a tone with him, “Can you send me home?”
An Zeru raised his eyes, eyes full of mockery, “For there to be no one willing to send Miss Gu home? You really think I’m just that easy to fool? I’ve had too much to drink tonight.”
She shook her head, “I get carsick. Bike me back.”
[T/N: that’s right! This is a bike! A regular bike, manual bike! So no, not that motorcycle right there.]
An Zeru: “Just walk back.”
Cen Simiao’s tone was sincere, “I’m wearing heels, my feet would hurt.”
“It didn’t even hurt when you climbed six flights of stairs, but it hurts now?”
She paused, then she suddenly smiled and openly stared at him for him to see, “I wanted to touch your waist, it seemed like it would feel good.”
An Zeru raised his eyes, chin taut while biting the tip of his tongue, forming a reckless grin, “Good taste.”
Then he sat on the motorcycle seat with his legs wide open. He leaned his body until he was in front of Cen Simiao’s eyes. The distance between the tips of their noses was very close, and he slowly asked, “No way to get home?”
Cen Simiao leisurely replied, “That’s right.”
His expression converged as if he knowingly understood. He nodded, then hooked up the corners of his lips and smiled arrogantly, “It’s none of my d*mn business.”
